LANProtector analyzes Address
Resolution Protocol (ARP) packages on the network and uses that information
to check if a network computer or a device (network peer) is allowed access to
the network. LANProtector will check the validity of each network peer’s
request using a set of network configuration and access rules you predefined
and act accordingly to allow or deny the network access. LANProtector
can be used just as a passive network observer, but its true strength and value
is in the fact that it can be used as the interactive protector of the network.
LANProtector protects the network based on the predefined set of rules using
two protection methods: 1.
Reserving the IPv4
addresses:
by automatically replying to each of the gratuitous obtain-address requests to
denied network peers. It will completely disable rogue computer or device’s
Operating System to obtain an IP address on the network and virtually never
allow them to become a part of the network. 2.
Blocking rogue
network peers to communicate with other peers on the network: by using a legitimate
ARP spoofing method to make sure all denied network computers and devices which
are already a part of the network will not be able to communicate with other
network peers.
